      I have downloaded the l_glass shader and installed it as per the documentation but I can't find it in maya
      sorry I am new to this and this is probably a stupid question
      thanks in advence

      If you are using maya 6, you have to load the mayatomr plug-in and then, in the hypershade, there's a tab that will let you create mental ray shader nodes. If it's set to create maya nodes, just click and select menta ray Nodes. After that, you'll see a new shader right there.. the l_glass.

      With Maya 5 you have to set an environment variable, but I guess you are using version 6.

      If nothing happens, maybe there's something missing in the installation.
