Thanks, im using 100 samples, and about the edges, yes i agree, but thats a Maya problem cause the bevel tool in Maya its really not good.Ive tried to use the Byron bevel too, but i was having problems with the faces during the render process with mentalray. The carpet is displace map, but im not using the mentalray displace map approximation, just the default Maya approximation.
well, i was using 1000 for global illumination accuracy, and 1000 rays for FG, min/mx 0, and GI radius 3, i think the "grain" look its because of the low samples in the arealight, im using 6 samples
Thanks Sunstar
I know that you're not using the displacement aproximation (MR) and you're not calculating the occlusion with the displacement map for the carpet, but could be nice to include the displacement in the occlusion pass, it would help in the contact between chairs, table and carpet.
Thanks WOTAN, breton, jclepev, yes you are right, im working on a new project, this one was just to test the dirt map shader together with FG/GI, it works really good.

Please tell us more about how you made the carpet! What exactly did you displace (if it's a texture, can we have a look at it?). I love that carpet, man, it's brilliant!
