I spent some time trying to come up with a theme for an image that would be worthy of entering. I new that it needed to be rather simple and managable. Since I have no experience in a contest like this and don't know how the time factor will play yet, I'm sticking to the ?keep it simple? rule of thumb as my guiding principle. The fewer characters I have to contend with the better. Early ideas were one hero and one antagonist. I thought it would be great to use an iconic D&D creature that would be readily recognizable to all D&D gamers: the Umber Hulk. However, I never felt like I found any compositions that worked, so I scrapped the idea all together. Here are some of the scrapped schetches.
