# 1Hi, a step by step tutorial is very bad. I think you can find some tutorials in the net. at www.learning-maya.com, but you will not find a dirtmap tutorial. I'm Using Maya 7, too. To create a dirtmap_map you need Mental Ray knowledge. The Dirtmap effect also called Occlusion.
mmm i think you got a big problem. First you have to learn Mental Ray with Maya.
I hope i gave you some tips.
