When I was at Annecy, I had the time to think of new project to do once I came back. And I think I'm ready for this project.

The thing that oriented my career toward 3D is those cool Final Fantasy cinematics! (mostly FF7 and FF8) And so I'm trying to design my own character and model it 'till completion.

Tips for the hair... well.. here's what comes to mind... use "Multi Strand Parameters" and change the "Root Splay" (for fun, try lowering the hair amount to something like 200 and put the "count" (in the Multi S. Parameters) to like.. 50 (feels like Clouds hair in FF:Advent Children). and for rendering I usualy activate mental ray and put 2 to 3 spot lights (different values, colors...) and I use Area shadows. thanx man, ill give them a try. i find hair very similar to dynamics, in teh sense that it requires ALOT of tweaking ot get the look just right. i remmeber doing my dynamics assignment a t college (which im still at by the way) and i wasn't fun. just took ages to get the desired effect. our next assignemnt is character modelling. tis good so far.

And hey, Skinny. I Just want to say that, the higher you aim, the faster you'll evolve in your career. If you like building cars, you should look at the last from Thomas Suurland ( www.suurland.com ) He made the last one in polygon modeling.

The topology is not to great... lots of non-complet loops.. and making expressions would be quit hard to do. But you can look at the main loops if it helps you.
