Hello everyone.

I will attempt to create The Scavenger, a character i drew some time back.



Starting my work with the Maya Nurbs Primitive i find it much easier to get the form out using this technique.

Ok once satisfied with the form i took it to Softimage and started with Polys. refining the forms. and Stuff.

Nice creature man!!!! And very interesting process...I understand your "crossing" between softwares to get better results ( me, I use Lightwave for modeling and sometimes export the models to maya to get more decent UVs) but you are the first person I know that uses maya for base and then moves to Softimage to continue the process, it´s a very peculiar selection. Doesn´t Softimage have nurbs or something similar?

By the way, nice level of detail on your model.

HAHA Nah friend Softimage is the Best poly Modeling app out there..its very very fast and kicks serious ass, its equally good as maya and BTW Nurbs technology is best implemented in Maya. Tell you why i am not a big fan of hardcore PCs, and maya does requires a strong machine in many cases. Softimage manages to run very smoothly on PCs with lower specs and not only that it handles Dense meshes very very nicely.

Well not for long actually i always stay few steps ahead of updates.
